concrete girl:
She is a concrete girl standing alone, one woman against the world, headstrong, seemingly unbreakable. all day and night she creates a world a magnificant, fantastic world of her own where crystalline mirages dance lazily across her tightly closed eyelids. in and out of conjured worlds, she floats somewhere inbetween. the concrete girl lives in a world so cold, shattered like broken glass. but when she closes her eyes, the barrier fades, a warm solace encloses her.

Life has a way of building those walls, doesn't it? I imagine this piece to have been therapeutic to write... those walls are sometimes invisible to ourselves, unless we go inward and try to examine them a bit, get at their roots.

The concrete is clearly only a shell or facade erected out of perceived necessity. Still, the perspective of the fly on this emotional wall is one of sympathy, sometimes even emulation.
