Overture
He came to me, on an unsuspecting night, with an unexpected overture.
Rousing me to a curious peak, with a haunting melody that has ever-since played over and over- seeming only for me.
He cradles my tenderness, rocks away misery to molasses- sweet dreams in forbidden symphony, where vibrations resonate, and falling sound tempts me with a craving the likes I have never known.
His pulsating rhythm, a beast shaking cage; he takes me over and over to this illicit place, where we share the same stars, light of passion, and the sound of music fills us.

Man, I wish I'd written this. I wish I'd written this and printed it up on some perfumed paper and slipped it into Andy's lunchbox.

AWwwww.... my goodness that has to be the absolute best compliment I have received at a poem! LOL- a bit more than just "wish I had written this" lol, HOW COOL! I like this one, of course because I incorporated all of my fave musical references. This one just happened, all at once and very spontaneously. I love it when that happens. It's an older one, also. (well, about a year old, I think) I've thought about trying to work with it in a melody. I'll let ya know if I figure something out for it- & send it to ya!

Oooooooh, now that you mention it......this has a Fiona Apple vibe on it. Smoky, low voice and piano played in a rhythm that makes you want to MOVE YOUR HIPS SLOW AND SMOOTH.
