Rescue:

having a loving hand to hold
and knowing somewhere out there cares
is all i need to keep strong.
there are times when my head goes under water,
the pull of the current tugging my body down,
waves crashing all around,
but you are there to bring me back up for air.
i am weak, but you are strong.
you by my side is all i need to allow me to live again.
stay with me.
don't let me fall back under,
i need you in my life, for you are my rescuer.

I have felt this way in my life, and when it was all said and done, I figured out that it was up to ME to be my own rescuer, though friends and even lovers over time have helped me find my way. It was more about me finding out what I was made of than about them. Love you, dear one.. if you ever need to talk, I am here for you & if not, I am always interested in reading your soul.
