A piece of your heart

A year passes
so quickly
and so slowly
and yet even now my thoughts turn to you

Forgotten for a moment
until the radio plays,
and every song
reminds me of you

Your scent,
a mere whisper of a memory
until it comes to me unbidden in a crowd
and I turn, to find you not there

Still....
your sweet soul haunts me.
you made me stronger,
more than I was before

I strived to be the me,
reflected in your eyes
not that I had to,
but because for you, I wanted to

Impossibly in love.
An impossible situation.
Still in Love, you left
leaving me adrift

I'm still adrift
but not alone
for I still
have a piece of your heart
