lonely road at night cold wind cuts deep no path feels right long winding steep
running from nowhere to nowhere at all behind a nightmare ahead a black wall
why do you fight to shuffle along when life just bites old-time country song
where will your road end when you can barely weave yet you must not bend because you still believe
that love waits for us all even down a long and dusty road

I like it Ken.. this could be it's own country song. It's amazing how many people that get divorced still want to be married (just not to who they were before). I pray for the chance meeting of soulmates... or alternatively.. the success of E-Harmony!

What a tender expression. I like the fight. I love that you do still have it in you!! Everyone needs love. We tell oursleves it's just a hassle and certainly it is, but we need it none-the-less. The last two lines in the 4th stanza--- wowsa. Don't give in to any negative self-talk, or critical view- I make myself remember way back, how pure and energetic I was to love and be loved. There is a book I read years ago by Iyanla Vanzandt- "In the Meantime" is the book- it helped me so much. Not that I applied what I learned, mind you. Keep writing, my friend.
