I had a smile for you today, a flirtatious cutesy one that only you would appreciate, but you never came by to see it. I was instead forced to keep it to myself, maybe for a rainy day when I might actually see you. seems like I remember you promising to be with me, but you ended up being too busy. maybe next time I have a smile, it won't be for you, it'll be for someone more deserving, someone who bothers to stop by to see that smile I keep.

This is why we end up building up walls around our heart..... but I always resist... I want to be open to those feelings again. I like the way your works are like a beautiful stream of conciousness sometimes.. straight from the heart to the paper.

I agree with P.O.S. about the straight from the heart to paper. I've been there, and it isn't nice! Reminds me of that Lucinda Williams song, "why you wanna diss me after the way you've been kissing me, after all those pretty things you said"..." be my lover don't play no games, just play me John Coltrane..." It's hard to know if others are as straight forward as we are and yes, it builds up those walls around our hearts. Really expressive work here, solace... keep your chin up & keep fighting back with that pen of yours!
