Confused
Confused, lost in space full of emotions and yet not complete
So much lost and so I wonder if it's too late, and then I ponder
confused futures, so much in the way but wonderful feelings have come my way
Stuck in the middle, but going forward too does this make sense? Does it make sense to you?
I wonder where I am Who I am What I am
So many paths open before me each lined with dangers dangers of guilt, regret, commitment and happiness
Funny that all those should be listed as dangers, could it be that happiness has been such a stranger?
A wonderful life I've had to this point Now knowing what I've been missing, is that why my nose is out of joint?
So easy to slide back to the comfortable path Never climbing that mountain, or falling down flat
I hope i stay true, and don't go back to the me that wasn't me, wasn't white, wasn't black
I hid me before, I could do so again but to do that would eventually be a tail spin
Where would that be, yes a comfortable life to sadness, and gladness, but never to love

I FEEL this, Poet. /Being who others want us to be means not being ourselves. I've lost my way many times, but determined to find myself again! I have also lived in fear of hurt, of pain.... it's a tough way to barely exist when the heart is closed. I understand this honest artistic expression and am rooting for you to find your way.

Dipity,
I get what you're saying too. It's scary to think of taking a risk, but only the risk-takers win the big prizes. We have to be strong to survive, and take risks with our hearts to flourish and find real happiness. What the hey, heartbreak will find its way to happen anyway, why not go for the gold ring? Easier siad than done, methinks.
I find some phrases here jarring ... "is that why my nose is out of joint?" may rhyme, but seems a bit folksy-cutesy for the mood you want to foster, IMHO.
Thanks for the read,
Ken
