If I had it in my power to make a moment last forever, I would choose this shining hour, and we’d always be together.
Hold back the sun from its slow slide down the heavens overhead. Pull in the reins on Time’s swift ride. Make Life wait for us instead.
Alas, the clock cannot be stopped. Tides rise and fall upon the shore. When by the hill the sun has dropped, this day must pass forevermore.
I won’t forget your sparkling eyes, your playful smile and winsome grace. Though soon we stand neath different skies, I’ll always see your smiling face.

Ahhh... beautiful!! I enjoyed all, but really like that 2nd stanza, and even more so, that last line in the 2nd stanza. Bittersweet and well-done, Ken.
