The story of a girl-
awake, escape the words, the wounds, the pain that looms outside the door on selfish hands: unworthy gift on soiled fingers, a mouth malignant, festering to bruise, bleed and breed
drunk on bone and flesh of mother's womb, mother's hand bleating through parted lip of love lost, fist clenched in envy, regurgitating poetry, a backwards flow seeking attention with swollen tongue
i watch through vacant eyes, motionless the ache it grows like seed you can't fight it, spirit willing flesh stagger, stench on putrid corpse you drag, you cling circumcise a heart swollen with decay, rotting a cutting throat of jealousy bleeding crocodile tear i turn away

As I read this, images popped in and out of my mind very quickly....almost like a chase sequence but the poem still had a dreamlike (or maybe nightmarelike?) quality to it for me.
I'm curious about the title. Is this inspired by reading on Lizzie Borden that you've done, her life story? I don't know much about her or her case though it is a chapter in a book called "The Cases That Haunt Us" that's on my pile of yet-to-be-read-tomes-that-I-couldn't-resist-buying-from-the-book-clubs.

well this one takes my breath....... I am such a sucker for Lizzy....... I am not sure that she was all that bad..... if I had to live with the things that she did I might have done the same thing.......
well done ...... vivid images that make you flinch
