I´m just through with the book and i totally love it :-)
I guess if I was to have a daughter anytime soon the poor girl would end up with the name Aelphaba ;D

notion of individual culpability (...) it´s a blind excuse for crime.

One never learns how the witch became wicked, or wether that was the right choice for her - is it ever the right choice? Does the devil ever struggle to be good again, or if so is he not a devil? It
is at the very least a question of definitions.
