I hope everyone is in the spirit of the Holiday Season! It is SO inspiring to me, as I'm sure it is to you. A reminder, also that we are going to put out a Holiday Edition newsletter toward the middle of the month, so make sure you nominate your favorite pieces of poetry, photography, etc. from any of the posts in any of the forums posted since our last newsletter (August). It's a special recognition for those Poets' poems that their peers nominated their piece to be showcased. Our newsletter is sent out to all members/subscribers, currently around 85 members strong. It often times renews interest in the Mystic Muse community for Poets that wander and forget how cool this board is!  Love & Peace to you all in this beautiful time of the year!! ~elle |

Hey... NO FAIR!! Well, I guess it's fair since once Christmas is over you'll STILL have the snow.. LOL
I sure do miss cold/snow around Christmas time though... sigh.
Making the trip back to Minnesota this year and hoping for a White Christmas!

I have a friend in Olivia, MN & he assures me that they have plenty of snow! LOL, so there ya go! The snow is pretty, but believe me, not pleasant to drive in every day. When I lived in Austin, I missed the snow at Christmas, too. I had geckos hanging on my window in December.. it just didn't seem right. The weirdest holidays I ever spent were a Thanksgiving in Hawaii.. eating mahi mahi instead of turkey and Christmas' in Austin & Ventura, CA... too warm & sunny to feel like Christmas.

Hello and love to all of our wonderful friends!
2007 has been a quiet year. A year of internalizing and refocusing. Both of us continue apace, and overall the year has been filled with small good things.
So, as we are thinking of all of you in the holiday season, we send you wishes of joy, prosperity, peace, and security.
Merry Christmas, and a blessed New Year to All!
Fresh:
A place in the sun, starting out unknown.
As each day passes, it feels more like home.
A new year, under the sun,
All we remember, all we've done,
History now, in pale passed over light,
Looking forward, unknowably bright.
Learn, love, for the New Year comes.
A Letter To Santa:
Dear Santa,
Up there at the frigid North Pole,
There are some things I'd like you to know,
This year, I want happy memories in my stocking,
Please, think kindly on me while by the fire you're rocking,
Give me happy hearts for those I love, near or far,
Give me, peace, love, and prosperity for them however far,
Away or near, let them hear, Christmas' bright star,
Let newspapers print "What a great day!".
"We have not a bad thing to say!"
As bells ring, grant new angels their wings,
And let it be that each loved heart sings.
Let little children with eyes so bright,
Have sweet dreams on Christmas night,
And grace those who are a bit gray,
With memories of a sweet, well loved day.
As you fly though the swirling snow,
