LOL, oops! No, I hadn't! me bad!
Well, right now, I am post-b'driven. B'driven played mostly hard/alternative Rock music.
Right now, I am playing acoustic with a really neat guitar player named Jamie. He also plays in a cool funk-rock band, but he & I have been working on some tunes to play out. Some of the songs we are going to do: Flyleaf "Fully Alive", Stone Sour "Looking Glass" we have tinkered with a few songs that I don't think we are going to do, like 4 non blondes what's up" we both like Alice in Chains, Counting Crows, Led Zep, Evanescence.. so I think our philosophy as we discussed it last week at practice will be to do songs that highlight the guitar and vocals, as that is what we know best between us. We are trying to pick cool songs that have drive and will engage our audience. He is also a big fan of Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline we discussed doing "walk the line" and Patsy's "Walkin After Midnight" and we also have some original stuff and will write originals together. The covers are a way for us t begin the creative process and getting to now one another's strengths and getting us out there.
So, that's "the band" right now, the two of us, but many great bands have began with a guitar player and singer writing songs and adding drums and bass later on. We are both having fun and it keeps us honing our skills and we enjoy one another so I am really having fun with the music and the discovery process right now. Music is a very intimate thing when you are talking about the amount of time you spend at it and being inspired by one another, it's just so cool!

Right now, we are going as elle -n- jackson
(kind of a play on Alan Jackson) though we play no country as of yet..lol
our music is ecclectic and truly unique and awesome,. Most of the songs we are doing I have never heard done before!
Jackson is a superb guitar player. He is right-on and brings an energy to it that I dig, becuz as most of you know, lol I am a hyper, restless soul. !
I am going to talk with him about getting a myspace page up for he & I soon, adding our songs so you all can come and check them out!!!

Jackson is his last name, in case I failed to clarify  & we have a cool friendship, as well. Which is truly important. He is SUPER-SMART, I love smarty-pants' people, lol like you all, creative, intelligent people and he is a caring kind of person, which seems rare these days. Rock -n- Roll can be a chew 'em up and spit 'em out kind of ordeal and he just isn't like that. He is humble, though he plays that guitar like nobody's business!!!! We are having fun and when we play Madison Square Gardens one day, you all will be getting tickets!! LOL but for real!! Much love to you all, too for caring about my other creative endeavors!! |
