Honey-song haiku
Honey-song nectar of nature, nourishment.

This made me think of all the insects and animals that feed off little flowers' nectar then pollinate the earth so more little flowers filled with nectar can grow. For me this is a gentle reminder that we're all connected, that the Earth is our Mother. Very cool!
This has a different syllable count for haiku, yes? I always learned it was 5 7 5 but you can obviously do other counts, right?

Very observant! Yes, when I first started writing Haiku, I stuck with the 5-7-5 syllable meter, but as I got into it more, I learned that there are many varietals to this complex, naturistic form. Being someone that likes to part from the "conventional" or widely accepted ways of doing things,I accept that Haiku has evolved. Bear in mind that there are still many Poets out there that do not subscribe to anything but the original form... so it can be controversial. But, there are many that also like the progression and teach the varieties of Haiku, and I was fortunate to meet some good ones that inspired me! The rules still apply, just in different meter... So now that you know, why not try a few? LOL.. that's a challenge!
