I had wanted to see "Mystic River" when it was first released, but didn't get a chance to. Lucky for me, they released it again in theaters, and I had the opportunity this past weekend to see it in it's big-screen format. I can't say enough about how impactful and well-done this movie is... we talked about it for 2 days after seeing it, when's the last time you saw a movie like that? Directed by Clint Eastwood, this movie is not a special-effects, shoot 'em up, violence-for-nothing kind of movie. It has realistic substance and the kind of drama and characters that stay with you. It had a lot of messages and leaves you walking away with more questions than when you went. I highly recommend anyone that has a chance, to go and see what the buzz is about. If Sean Penn doesn't win an Oscar for his role in this movie, well... he should.
