A random verse to keep the light burning in the window
No other love takes such a toll
leaves scars so livid on our soul
as the love beyond our grasp
the slender reed we cannot clasp.
we look into each other's eyes
to say the words we cannot speak
out loud. Carefully we craft our lies
to mask the truth so stark and bleak.
Yet still we nurse a flickering spark
to shield our love against the dark
ness while there's still a chance
our flames of love may someday dance.
Time is not our friend.
Each day we grow apart.
Time may never mend
