Hello Anybody-out-there,
Here we are, just a few of us left. I have been clicking on Mystic Muse lately only out of habit. I am reminded of my recent resolution to see things as they really are, not how they used to be or how I would like them to be. If not for AquarianM, this place would be riddled with cobwebs.
I have not been writing much lately, I don't know why. Perhaps the gratification-to-effort ratio has slipped down to the minuscule levels. Maybe I have nothing new to say.
I will be taking a break, and will return when the muses once again grace my lyrical windowsill. In the meantime, I am going to try to learn Japanese ... it seems I need a new windmill to tilt at, and this windmill seems as daunting as any.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all. See you in January-ish ..... Maybe the new year will breathe new life into Mystic Muse.
Sayonaura,
Ken

Ken - Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. Looks like we're the last of the old guard, my friend. Maybe 'Elle will be back after the new year if her new Mom duties lighten up a little.

The one thing about poetry boards: they could spring. Back to life at any time.

lol, lets hope so! I wondered for awhile, with the popularity of social netowrking sites, if there was a need for a poetry board..but, I have come to the comclusion that there is. I have been facebooking for about the past year.. I've only shared a rare one or two lyrical kinds of pieces on there, and I felt awkward doing so... these things we express, for me, anyway, they are so personal. I don't really want weveryone to have access to them and I miss the closeness & comaraderie of Poets that "get it"... That being said, I think FB & myspace, etc. will be great told to promote Mystic Muse or other poetry sites, (are there other boards you guys belong to?) I haven't posted anywhere else in a long long time. I just got sick of the drama that seemed to plague the ones I used to... Give me your thoughts...

'Elle - I think so exactly. Poets need a space for poets. This is one poetry board that is really hot and full of extremely good talent and good hearts: poeticconstellations.yuku.com/forums/4/master/1/ ; I think you'll recognize some names there, one I know for sure. Curtis Parker I know you know. BTW, Janine Daniel has vanished off the internet in the last year. Her site is down, e-mails dead, everything. I have no idea what happened. I sent a letter and a CD backup of most of her websites before they went dark via snail mail about three months ago, but I've heard nothing back at all. I don't want to say what I fear may have happened. We were online friends since 1996.

I do Facebook, but I only have a few friends. I don't want to get sucked in, actually. I use it mainly to play Wordscrabble with a clutch of friends.
If I want to read and share poetry, I come here. It does get dusty and quiet, but I don't mind that. I know there is still a small nucleus of folks, a few posters, that's fine with mw.

I can live with it too. It's our own personal artistic playground for now.
