One of the radio stations here in Fort Wayne had a book full of celebrities "Desert Island Discs" -- the ten LP's/CD's each celebrity would want on a desert island with them. Whenever local or national celebrities would come to the station to be interviewed or meet-and-greet the station's PD would have each celebrity add their list to the book. At noon every weekday the station would feature a list from the book and play a cut from each LP/CD on the featured list.
There were rules......greatest hits collections and box sets don't count and double LP's/CD's only take one slot on the list.
So......what about you guys? What are your "desert island discs"? Remember...NO GREATEST HITS COLLECTIONS OR BOX SETS. And, hard as it is, you can ONLY PICK TEN!

1, 3, and 10 are on my loooooooooooong list of honorable mentions. And I never would've seen the Motley Crue coming; that's why I'm so jazzed about this topic....I can find out neat things about everybody. And is Mad Season the side project folks from Alice In Chains and Mudhoney did; is that the CD with "I Don't Know Anything" and "River Of Deceit" on it? Miranda

If we could have added greatest hits I would have added The Eagles (as would many, I suppose, according to how many records that's sold).
I could go either way with Zeppelin I or II, doesn't really matter. Actually, I could probably make the entire list from their stuff.
Throwing Copper has stuck with me a long time. None of their other stuff really interests me, but that stands out quite a bit.
Actually, if I could only take one ... it would probably be STP's Core. I just ... that blew me away and still does.
I could have easily added your #4, 5, 6.
Motley Crue ... I'm a cruehead. My teen years were spent in the 80's. The Crue have always been my favorite. I could have stuck the first five cds on here and been happy with it. (I named my son after Nikki's son.) The first two were raw and I really like those the best.
Yeah, that is Mad Season, with Layne from AiC, McCready from Pearl Jam, and Barrett Martin from Screaming Trees. I adored that cd when it came out. I lost it along the way, somehow, and this little post reminded me of how much I enjoyed it. So I'll be going to Amazon before long to pick it back up.
This was fun.

Okay... well, I never got back to this one until now:
1.) Fleetwood Mac- Rumours 2.) Stevie Nicks- Time & Space 3.) The Beatles- white album (oh man how do you pick just one/?) 4.) Rolling Stones- Sticky Fingers 5.) Cream- the one with white room, etc. 6.) Elton John- Follow the yellowbrick road 7.) Train- Meet Virginia 8.) Jimi Hendrix- purple Haze 9.) Janis Joplin- Pearl 10.) Janis & Big Brother & holding Co. Live from Monterey Pop festival
man, that is really tough, so many others.. and some are just too hard to decide between!!!!
I could have another 100 top ten lists!!!! My music interest is all over... I don't have any ella fitzgerald or billy holiday or even currents like Corinne Bailey-rae whom I believe is the next great singer of our time.
