Fallen Birch:
I see the grey sky, Early spring and windy, The hawk is perched high in the fallen birch, One ray of sun striking him gently, Lanced down through the hole in the clouds, A finger of God set down in kindness, Illuminates bare dead wood and living regal bird, The eye of the hunter is sharp, And I stare silently across the waters, Gun metal colored ripples, Awaiting the joy of warm and blue and green, It's the silence of a good omen, A moment the spirit heals, Still standing and supporting life, Still in ways able to win, The fallen birch leans upon it's neighbor, Adjusts the lean of the whole picture, A vision of successful endings, And flight is not far away.

Wow...I really like this one... paint a picture in my mind I see every morning...except it's a mesquite instead of a birch...and no water, but still Very nice. Dyna

Lovely, serene images... I envision this being as the sun rises, warm tones in both color and spirit.
