I use this form a lot! In fact my first poem was a tanka. A tanka is a five-line poem with a 5-7-5-7-7 syllable count. Sometimes I string together a bunch of tankas to create a piece.
YOUR CHALLENGE FOR THIS WEEK: Write at least one tanka. Please place your works here as new threads and feel free to comment on everyone else's offerings. I can't wait to see what you come up with.
If you have an idea for a future challenge please let me know!

Serenity's Pond- Tanka
Serenity's pond, koi dance in rhythmic pattern, each following next, unison, graceful movements- circles of enlightenment.

I love this one, Elle. It's very meditative.
